How it works

  1. 1Choose a GIF or WebP image.
  2. 2ImgShrink scans animation markers in the browser.
  3. 3Review frame count, approximate duration, loop signal and whether conversion or compression is a better next step.

Privacy and limits

  • The file is read locally and is not uploaded.
  • Duration is estimated from file markers and may differ from specific app playback.
  • This checker reports animation details; it does not edit or optimize the animation.

Checker scope

Animated Image Checker checks the image rules that matter for this task and explains pass, warning or fail results.

File-based checks run in the browser. Public URL checks read only the public page and public image resources entered by the user.

Common use cases

  • Finding image issues before publishing or uploading
  • Checking dimensions, format, metadata or technical properties
  • Choosing the next compression, resize, conversion or cleanup tool

Format notes

  • Readable details depend on browser support and the image format.
  • Checker results help find issues but do not replace the final preview or review in the target platform.
  • Use the linked repair tools when the file needs to be changed.

Original test sample

  • Use a JPG, PNG or WebP sample and confirm the result includes dimensions, format and next-step guidance.
  • For public URL tools, test a reachable page and confirm both missing and passing states are reported.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. ImgShrink processes selected images in your browser and does not upload them to a server.

Can this tool guarantee an exact file size?

No. Target compression gets close when possible, but the final bytes depend on image detail, dimensions, format and browser encoding.

Why is an output format unavailable or different?

The browser controls image decoding and export support. Some browsers may not export AVIF or may flatten unsupported transparency.

Source and compatibility notes

This tool works in the browser, so output support depends on what your browser can read and export.
